We need your help! HPAF receives no state or federal funding and exists only through donations. The amount of neglected horses and horses whose owners can no longer afford to feed them has exploded recently and your donations make it possible for HPAF to continue the work of protecting and saving horses.

No donation is too small. Please help us help the horses.

New Rescues

Athena December 9, 2009                     Athena April 7, 2010

New Horses needing immediate homes. There are 14 new Thoroughbreds plus a couple Quarter Horses and a Paint from a number of places who need new homes. Please email us at msilver@wildblue.net to request photos. We will send you an adoption application and emails with pictures of the horses. Some of these horses are privately owned and some are with HPAF. Arrangements for the privately owned horses will be directly with their owners. We ask that you provide them or us with the adoption application as well as pictures of where the horse will live.

If you would like to provide feed or hay for the horses , orchard & alfalfa hay, both regular and pasture bales, from Larsen Farms (352-732-4445) or Quality Hay (352-529-0888) in Williston are used to provide high quality free choice hay. We use 14 bags of Purina Ultium Growth , 6 bags of Purina Enrich 12 (not 32 anymore) , 20 bags of Purina Equine Senior and 3 containers of Purina 12:12 Free Balance (loose) per week. Chiefland Farm Supply is our Purina dealer (352-493-4294). Also used are 35 bags of Stampede Brand Timothy and Alfalfa cubes and 3 bags of Equi-Jewel Rice Bran Pellets per week.

Springtime Joint Health, Cetyl M, Finish line U-7 or Gastrix, Redmond Salt (Green & Growing), Bute powder and MSM are used for a number of the horses.

There has been so much paperwork involved in these cases and on adoptions that we have a great need for printer ink 56 black (most), 98 black & HP 93,95 color, and stamps.

Volunteers are needed to help with cleaning, grooming and preparing the newsletters for mailing this week.

Thank you to everyone who has sent cash donations as well as feed and hay. We will send thank you letters to everyone who has provided help and we will list everyone in a future newsletter.

Thank you for helping these horses!

Horses In Need Of Homes

No Adoption fee or donation for any horse except where noted.

Horses need homes so we can take in other horses who have no place to go or are not being fed. Please give a home to a horse and help save a life.

Our Mission Statement

To provide equine rescue, rehabilitation, education and adoption services within the state of Florida.

To provide assistance to law enforcement and animal agencies with cruelty investigations, as well as the care and placement of horses.

Thank You

A very special thank you to board member Kim Heath and the HPAF staff for all of their hard work over the last months. Kim has worked non stop and since before Thanksgiving getting feed to horses in need and finding homes for countless horses.  The HPAF staff has been working extra hard with so many extra horses on top of the excellent job they already do. Thank you to Lisa, Sharon, Julie, Robert, Angie, Rebecca, David and Chad for all that they do for the horses. None of these rescues would be possible without them.
