Roxy

I took Roxy to a dressage show on Saturday in Tallahassee. My trainer, Kathy Daley has been riding her and making great progress. She rode her in Intro B, (we missed Intro A) and she won her class and scored a 70.47! She received 8's in her first 20m circle and her medium walk. I was so proud of her!

She did spook during the warm-up at some jumps that were stored on the grounds, but she took it all in like a pro. I must say, she even beat some very nice Warmbloods. As for my own riding, I am taking lessons with Kathy and she suggested a bitless bridle for the time being.

Shirl is also doing well. Dom rides her 2 or 3 times a week for about 20 minutes and he brushes her everyday. She seems fat and happy.

All are on Nosodes and I just had a fecal done for parasites with negative results, so all are doing well.

Tell April about Roxy's show. She should be proud for making the horses rideable and giving them a future.

Thanks!! Apryl

UPDATE:

Hello All!

Hope things are going well for you all! Things are good here. Dom and I attended a pasture management class at the local Ag Extension Office and are getting a leg up on establishing better pasture and forage for the upcoming winter months.

The girls (Roxy and Shirl) are doing fine. Roxy had some training set backs, but it seems to have been a little dental problem. She was floated and is going along nicely. She is such a sensitive girl. I have been trying to adjust things accordingly trying to keep her mind engaged. Enclosed is a recent picture with her high point ribbon from last year. Unfortunately I have not been able to show her at all this year. My own confidence and fear have had to be addressed. I will continue to persevere and use Parelli to help Roxy as well as myself heal some pretty deep scars.

She has become my best friend and a willing partner. When she has an issue I am learning to read her and listen to what she is telling me. It is truly a long but rewarding road.

I hope Demi is doing well. I am still hoping to bring her home someday. I have plenty of room in my heart for one more, but not in my pasture. With better pasture management, I am looking forward to that being rectified!

God bless you for all the wonderful work you do!
